Financial Assistance

Eastern Pennsylvania Bleeding Disorders Foundation provides emergency financial assistance. To qualify, you must be treated at one of the following six Hemophilia Treatment Centers:

  • Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
  • Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
  • Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
  • St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children
  • Penn State Hershey Medical Center
  • Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg

EPBDF realizes that there are times when families face emergency financial hardships and need help with payments. While limited funds prevent us from granting all requests, we try to assist in any way we can. Community members in need of assistance must first contact the social worker at their HTC. The social worker will then contact us to discuss the request. We can help with rent or mortgage support, utility bills, phone bills, food, and clothing. Other areas of need will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The Foundation cannot provide support for medicine, medical bills and deductibles, medical services, and any expense deemed to be necessary for the family but not the patient. To be eligible for the emergency financial assistance, patients must comply with their treatment plan including annual visits at their Treatment Center.
